What is NABH ?
National Accrediatation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) is a constituent board of Quality Council Of India, set up to institute and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations. The NABH standards offer framework for quality assurance and quality manage and quality improvement also focus on the security of the patient and quality of healthcare base upon national/international standards.

NABH Accreditation Procedure
Step1 - Application Submission to NABH: The hospital shall apply to NABH in the recommended application form. The application shall accommodate the following:
• Process the application fee as described in the application form
• Fill in Self-Assessment from as suggested by NABH.
• Self-declaration of Terms and Conditions for described by NABH
• Prepare Hospital Manual/Quality Standards (as per NABH consultants)
• Upload the relevant documents i.e.
Different policies and procedures of the hospital
Fire NOC
Lift NOC (If lift available )
Police NOC
Pollution NOC
ID & Address proof of the proposed directors
MCA related NOC
Details of the shareholding percentage to be allotted to each subscriber
Bank statement/Mobile Bill/Electricity Bill/Telephone Bill
Amount of shares to be allotted
Any special clauses to be inculcated in the Memorandum and Articles of Associations
Objects of the proposed Company
Signage NOC and other relevant documents related to hospital approval.
Step2 - Application review By NABH team: Post receivable of the NABH request, the application form shall be scrutinized and recognition letter for the submission shall be issued to the hospital along with a unique reference number.
Step3 - Pre-Assessment: The next step is NABH aligns a Principal Inspector/ Valuation Team who is accountable for pre-assessment of the hospital. The object of Pre-assessment is as below:
• Check the preparation of the hospital for final assessment
• Review the scope of authorization and determine the precondition of the number of assessor and the period of the accreditation
• Review of the documentation/SOP’s of the hospital
• Explain the practice to be adopted for evaluation.
Step4 - Final Assessment: The applicant hospital is mandatory to take essential remedial action to the unconventionality sharp out during the pre-assessment. The final valuation includes a full review of hospital functions and services.
Issue of Accreditation Certificate: Upon the above steps, NABH shall issue an official approval certificate to the hospital for the extent of three years. The NABH certificate is accompanied by a range of accreditation.
Step5 - Surveillance and Reassessment: As discussed above official approval of hospital is valid for a period of three years. NABH team conducts one investigation of the credited hospitals in one accreditation cycle of three years. The medical organization shall apply for the renewal of accreditation at least six months previous to the expiry of strength.
